Sweet Persimmons Crocheted Bead Necklace

I've been eyeing crocheted beads for several months now. I love the pop of color, the simple spherical shape, the natural color of the wood, and the play with color combinations. Made into baby-friendly jewelry, crocheted unfinished wood beads are a fun accessory for moms and also fun for little fingers to touch!

Crochet on 20 mm wooden bead
7/1.65mm crochet hook
100% mercerized cotton, 3-light DK weight yarn

make magic ring
r1 : ch1, 6sc in magic ring (6 st)
r2 : *2sc in each st* repeat 6 times (12 st)
r3 : *1sc in first st, 2sc in next st* repeat 6 times (18st)
r4 – r6 : 1sc in each st (18st)
Insert bead with hole lined up
r7 : *sc2tog in first st, 1sc in next st* repeat 6 times (12st)
r8 : *2sc in first st* repeat 6 times (6st), fasten off, weave tail in

String wood beads onto a ribbon or tube of sheer fabric. Tie knots in between beads if you prefer them more spaced out. Make knot at end of each "end bead" to keep them in place.

Looking forward to trying more color combinations! Navy ribbon with sunshine yellow, light gray, and cream beads?? Purple ombre?? Jewel-toned greens?? Pinks?? So many possibilities!
