Friendly Fair Isle Hat (knit)

Frosty Bubble

It has been a little chilly lately. Warmed up a little last weekend which slightly melted the snow. Then, temperatures dropped again to freeze everything to sheets of ice. Perfect timing for a wool-blend fair isle hat that reminds me of snow and snowflakes!

Inspired by Purl Soho's Friendly Fair Isle Hat Pattern.

Materials

  • Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Fisherman and Sky
  • US 11 (8.0mm) 16 inch circular knitting needles
  • stitch markers
  • yarn needle
  • large Clover pom pom maker
Followed pattern for "Kid Size" and with finished measurements of 19 inches in circumference and 9 inches deep (without pom pom) which comes to the "Adult Small" finished measurements which fits my head easily as well as my husband's large head. I used a thicker yarn and slightly bigger needles than the pattern specifies.

Blue skies today with sparkling snowflakes that fall like glitter from he sky! Didn't catch it on video but you can imagine the magic!

Happy snow day!
