Beanie For A Bun (knit)
Ingredients
- Yarn: 1 skein Patons ColorWul (bulky 5, 3oz approx 90 yards, 100% wool, hand wash, lay flat to dry)
- Needles: 16" circular needles in size 10 (6.0mm) and size 11 (8.0mm)
- Notions: 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle
- Gauge: If using 6.5mm needles, 14 sts x 19 rows = 4 inches stockinette (note, this is from the yarn label, I never do swatches...just math in my head if using different yarns/needle sizes)
- Size: Adult (it's really stretchy)
Abbreviations
- CO: cast on
- k: knit stitch
- p: purl stitch
- k2tog: knit two stitches together
- rep: repeat
- rnd(s): round(s)
- st(s): stitch(es)
Recipe
- Using smaller size needles, CO 52 sts, join in the rnd being careful not to twist. Place stitch marker to mark beginning of the rnd.
- *k2, p2; rep from * to end and continue until it measuress 2 1/4 inches from CO edge
- change to bigger needles
- *p for 5 rnds then k for 4 rnds; repeat from *3 more times
- *k2tog; rep from * to end
- Bind off. Weave ends in.
