Garden Butterfly, no Moth, no Butterfly, no Moth....

On this beautiful spring day, I meandered out to the garden to see if anything was growing. Looks like the bell peppers, chilies, eggplants, tomatoes, green onions, tulips, and ranunculus are all coming up nicely. Even the winter flowers are still thriving. Within a few minutes, I was distracted by this beautifully intricate butterfly or perhaps it's really a moth? Any insect experts out there?
