Scrap Cup Cozy (knit)
Ever have a little balls of yarn rolling around leftover from projects? I do! I do! I'll often make them into coasters for the kid's play kitchen or other assorted play kitchen goodies. This time, I'm giving cup cozies a go! Keep those chilly fingers warm while holding on to that metal water bottle so your fingers don't freeze to it (some times literally...). Use it in place of a cardboard cozy when you get coffee or tea to go. Cute as gifts with a bag of coffee beans, hot chocolate, tea bags, and/or cookies!
Materials
- US 6 (4 mm) 12" circular knitting needles
- stitch marker
- yarn needle
- scrap worsted weight yarn
Notes
- Sized to fit paper coffee cups and reusable water bottles. The stretchiness is pretty adaptable to many circumferences but I didn't test a range. The range of fit will also depend on the yarn used. Since I don't keep track of what my yarn scrap is (therefore no set gauge or fiber content etc), the forgiving fit is needed! Play around with cast on sts and needle size.
- Gauge: 1x1 inch = 7 sts x 5 rows
- Knit in round
- attach additional yarn as needed
Finished Measurements
Circumference: 8 inches, not stretched
Height: 4.5 inches
